“ I'm a vegetarian. I'm always concerned whenever I walk into a restaurant for the first time. I got the 3 Egg Mexican Omelette with tater tots and the salad bar. After today, I am a Sombrero LIFER. The omelette came out super fast. The salad bar is from ANOTHER GALAXY. Very, very, very pleased. ”
“ Actually surprisingly good. Read other reviews but I give this a 5. I had a chili dog and rings, the onions on the dog were nice and loud and the chili was also very good. Chicken club was also very good according to my wife. Fun place to stop and hang around and relax from the road. ”

Girlfriend and I had two specials for the day, which were two beef tacos with a side. I thought the meal was very good. Service was absolutely on point. She was very polite and very informative about the specials. So glad that we stopped in for a meal. I know it is off-season right now. The only thing I would have to say is do something to make it known you are open. ”

“ Although many would say the food is average, my wife and I found the meal we had as wonderful. She had the BLT and requested extra crispy bacon. They didn't miss on that. I had the Super Steak Burger with onion rings and really enjoyed it. Juicy and very flavorful. Our server, Brianna, was a true gem. She took care of everything and we shared how we happened upon South of the Border. We found our experience here to be truly a memorable and wonderful part of our journey. ”

“ I’ve been going to south of the border sombrero for 20 years. I will say that 20 years ago the menu was a lot different and recently the whole place has been renovated. They have a delicious salad bar, and the chef obviously takes care with the soup of the day. The service is great every single time I go Anne and I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s perfect for a stop on the road. You can even get ice cream for dessert in the area that connects the restaurant and the gift shop . ”

The restaurant is really clean and very very nice! I'm surprised there aren't more people here..... Hope they get more business, on other days... If not, it's a shame and more people need to know about this place! They have a good mix of food options, on the menu and a large selection on the salad bar. I just got a BLT and fries, it was good. My son got a chicken salad sandwich and it seems like it was gone, in 2 bites ”
